TRTA conducts 8th and 9th training for farmers and stakeholders

In a bid to extend greater assistance to food and feed manufacturing sector, TRTA conducted its twin training on copra drying for the coconut farmers and good manufacturing practices (GMP) and hazard analysis critical control points (HACCP). The eighth leg of the training was conducted in the historic hotel of Lantak Hotel by the Sea in Zamboanga City on January 2007 while the ninth leg was held Balanghai Hotel and Convention Center in Butuan City on February 2007.

About a hundred farmers for both the 8th and 9th legs attended the training on proper copra drying while about 50 stakeholders attended the GMP/HACCP training. The stakeholders were made up of processors producing virgin coconut oil, crude oil, can and bottled fish, and frozen marine products, among other.

Butuan stakeholders work on their critical control points across the various processing stages.
